While resting in a forest grove on his way to Uruvelā, the Buddha encounters a company of thirty wealthy young men, known as the Good Group, who are out enjoying themselves. One courtesan had stolen their belongings and fled. When they ask the Buddha if he has seen her, he reorients their focus, asking whether it is better to seek a missing woman or to seek themselves.
