Four years after cremation, Ajahn Mun’s bone fragments were found transformed into crystal-like relics—344 in Khun Wan’s reliquaries. Relics multiplied or merged according to devotees’ wishes. The biographer (Ajahn Mahā Boowa) explains relics result from the purified mind cleansing body elements, unlike ordinary remains. He recounts the government official whose two relics became three, noting Ajahn Mun’s relics may vanish if not properly respected.
