Lobsang Drakpa, known as Je Tsongkhapa (1357–1419), was the great reformer who founded the Gelug school. Deeply influenced by Atiśa’s Kadam lineage, he emphasized strict Vinaya discipline, intensive study, and a precise understanding of the Madhyamaka view of emptiness. He founded Ganden Monastery and established the Great Prayer Festival in Lhasa. His magnum opus, the Lamrim Chenmo, provides a comprehensive map of the spiritual path, earning him a reputation as the Second Atiśa.
