Dharmamitra (Kashmir)

Known as the Chan Master with Connected Eyebrows, Dharmamitra was a native of Kashmir (Jibin) and a specialist in meditation techniques. He traveled extensively through Central Asia before settling in Nanjing during the Liu Song Dynasty. He translated several key meditation sūtras, including the Guan Puxian pusa xingfa jing. His work was pivotal in systematizing Buddhist visualization and repentance practices in Southern China, and he was highly revered by both the royalty and the common people.
