01 Jotika, the Rich Householder

high-definition creative commons posters depicting Jotika, the Rich Householder based on the Great Chronicles of the Buddhas together with further information.

In a past life during Buddha Vipassī’s era, Aparājita built a grand, jewel-encrusted monastery with a perfumed chamber for the Buddha. Unattached to his immense wealth, he invited visitors to freely collect the scattered gems. In his final life as Jotika, his extraordinary past merit yielded an automatic, miraculous palace that materialized from the earth. He eventually renounced all material splendor to become an Arahat under Gautama Buddha.
