A clever Bodhisatta quail saved his flock from a hunter by teaching them to cooperate: when caught in a net, they flapped in unison, lifted the net, and escaped onto a thorn bush. However, after an argument broke out over who stepped on whom, unity collapsed. Quarrelsome and divided, they failed to act together during the next catch, allowing the hunter to capture and sell the entire flock.
