IV: The Fatal Dice

high-definition creative commons posters depicting the The Fatal Dice from the Mahābhārata together with further information.

Duryodhana invites Yudhishthira to a rigged game of dice. Overcome by a gambling compulsion, Yudhishthira loses his kingdom, brothers, himself, and finally Draupadi. The Pandavas are humiliated, and Draupadi is dragged into court, where she is saved from disrobing by Krishna’s divine intervention. The elders eventually intervene, and the Pandavas are sentenced to twelve years of exile in the forest followed by one year of living in disguise.
