During their exile, the Pandavas listen to various stories of devotion, including the tale of Savitri and Satyavan. Savitri, a princess, chooses to marry Satyavan despite a prophecy that he will die within a year. When Yama, the god of death, claims Satyavan’s soul, Savitri follows him, impressing the deity with her wisdom and unwavering loyalty. Her devotion ultimately compels Yama to restore Satyavan to life and grant her prosperity.
