X. Fall of Karna

Karna assumes command, leading to the war’s climax. He engages in a fierce duel with his rival, Arjuna. Throughout the battle, Karna is hampered by old curses: his chariot wheel sinks into the earth and he forgets his most powerful mantras. Despite his bravery, Arjuna kills him on Krishna’s advice while Karna is attempting to lift his wheel. The death of the great warrior Karna signals the certain defeat of the Kauravas.
