07-08 On an Island
high-definition creative commons posters depicting On an Island from The Epic of Maṇimēkhalai together with further information.
The goddess Maṇimēkhalā transports the heroine to the island of Maṇipallavam and departs. Upon waking, a bewildered Maṇimēkhalai wanders through the island until she encounters a bright, miraculous Buddha-seat placed there by the god Indra. By worshipping the seat and walking around it, a divine awakening takes place, allowing her to recall the events and relationships of her past life with crystal-like clarity.
