Inspired by a prophetic dream about his master’s greatness, the disciple Rechungpa requests Milarepa to share his life story. Milarepa agrees, recounting his family lineage. He explains how an ancestor subdued a demon, earning the name Mila. Despite losing their fortune in a dice game, the family rebuilt their wealth, leading to the birth of Milarepa, named Töpaga. Indeed, he spent his early childhood years raised in great material luxury.
