04 Meeting with the Lama
high-definition creative commons posters depicting Meeting with the Lama from The Life of Milarepa together with further information.
Regretful of his past sins using harmful black magic, Milarepa seeks the genuine dharma. After failing to practice diligently under lama Rongtön Lhaga, he is directed to the legendary translator Marpa Lotsāwa. Upon arriving, Milarepa unknowingly meets Marpa disguised as a plowing cleric. After testing Milarepa with hard field labor, Marpa reveals his true identity and accepts him as a devoted disciple, offering him authentic dharma instead of material comforts.
