A thirsty king repeatedly tries to drink from a trickling stream, but his pet falcon knocks the cup away each time. Enraged, the king kills the bird. He later discovers a venomous serpent was polluting the water at the source. The falcon had saved his life, and the king is left to mourn his impulsive, violent loss of a loyal friend.
