A lion, an ass, and a fox hunt together. When the ass divides the prey into three equal shares, the lion kills him in a rage. The fox then gives the lion almost everything, keeping only a tiny morsel. When asked who taught him such wisdom, the fox points to the dead ass, proving that the wise learn from others’ mistakes.
