A hungry lion terrorizes the forest, so the animals agree to send him one victim daily. When it is the hare’s turn, he arrives late and tells the lion another, stronger, lion has stolen the prey. He leads the lion to a deep well; the lion attacks his own reflection and drowns, showing that even the strongest can be defeated by wit.
