high-definition creative commons posters depicting King Āditta from Fifty Lannā Jātaka Stories together with further information.
In this birth-story, King Āditta of Joti, a future Buddha, is tested by Sakka, king of devas. Disguised first as an old brahman, Sakka receives and discards the king’s meal of rice. Returning as a young brahman, Sakka requests the king’s beloved wife, Queen Saṅkhā. The king selflessly gives her away. Impressed by their perfect generosity, Sakka reveals his identity, returns the queen, and foretells the king’s eventual spiritual awakening.
