06 Prince Samuddaghosa

high-definition creative commons posters depicting Prince Samuddaghosa from Fifty Lannā Jātaka Stories together with further information.

Prince Samuddaghosa (the Bodhisatta) marries the beautiful Princess Bandhumati. Gifted a magical flying sword by a grateful, injured sorcerer they cured, they travel to wondrous lands. However, a thief steals the sword, and a violent storm shipwrecks and separates the couple at sea. The queen builds an alms-hall carved with their life story to search for him. Reunited after Sakka’s intervention, they return home to rule both kingdoms righteously.
