King Yasakitti of Campā and Queen Sirimatī fled to the forest when an evil king invaded. Their son, the Bodhisatta Sirivipulakitti, was born in exile after Yasakitti was betrayed and imprisoned. As a youth, Sirivipulakitti offered his life to free his father. Surviving multiple execution attempts through his miraculous power, he was rescued by a nāga king, crowned ruler of Campā, and reunited with his father, though his mother perished.
