In the White Mouse (Setamūsika) Jātaka, the Bodhisatta is born as a mouse who keeps the five precepts. His virtue brings prosperity to Sudhammapālika, but he is stolen and then given to King Brahmadatta. Later, Sakka tests him by requesting his flesh. The mouse joyfully offers his life, and a lotus saves him.
