A cow named Bahalā promises a tiger she will return after feeding her calf, Bahalaputta. The Bodhisatta calf offers his own body instead. Moved by their truthfulness, forbearance, and gratitude, the tiger spares them. Sakka praises these three virtues and brings all three to Tāvatiṁsa heaven.
