39 Prince Soṇananda

high-definition creative commons posters depicting Prince Soṇananda from Fifty Lannā Jātaka Stories together with further information.

King Surabhata’s son, the Bodhisatta Suvaṇṇakumāra, proves his merit by walking on the ocean and receiving a white elephant from a goddess. When King Bhaṭosura of Sīhala demands the elephant, Suvaṇṇakumāra conquers him with five magic arrows from Sakka. Bhaṭosura submits, and Suvaṇṇakumāra returns to Bārāṇasī, ruling righteously and establishing charity halls.
