Spending Time with Ven. Ñāṇavimala

high-definition creative commons posters depicting Spending Time with Ven. Ñāṇavimala by Ven. Hiriko together with further information.

An attendant monk describes looking after an aging Ven. Ñāṇavimala during his later, secluded years on Parappaduwa Island. Despite suffering from a bent spine and severe physical infirmity due to decades of barefoot wandering, the Mahāthera preserved strict mindfulness, radical fewness of wishes, and absolute unattachment to external things. He explicitly warned his attendant against the deceptive wrong jhāna trap, emphasizing that meditation must never compromise active, continuous moment-to-moment awareness.
