In Sāvatthī, a brother, manipulated by his greedy wife, attempted to murder his sister for her jewelry. Having been taught by the Buddha to seek refuge during danger, the sister silently practiced devotion and love during the attack. A deity intervened, rescuing her and her newborn son and returning them safely to Sāvatthī. They eventually attained spiritual realization, and the son became the Arahant Elder Saraṇa.
