Feigning boils and a fatal illness, Wang Ch’ung-yang drives away all but six disciples, then dies after teaching balance of life and original nature, foretelling each one’s obstacles. The six carry his coffin toward Mount Chung-nan while a hidden benefactor in yellow robes supplies food. Ch’iu exposes him, is rebuked for betraying Heaven’s secrets, and provisions stop. At the burial place an old friend, warned in a dream, donates land.
