A resident monk named Kassapagotta welcomes visiting monks with great hospitality. Later, they accuse him of an offence and suspend him. He travels to the Buddha, who rules the suspension invalid. The visiting monks, filled with remorse, confess their transgression, and the Buddha praises the value of acknowledging and making amends for one’s faults.
